The main objectives of the Consular Corps of Cape Town (“Consular Corps”) are to represent its members in dealings with both Provincial and Municipal Government in the Western Cape and with any other Provincial or Municipal Governments falling within the areas of jurisdiction of its members.

The ancillary objectives of the organisation are to promote the general interests of the Consular Corps both internally and in its relations with the citizens of Cape Town and surrounding areas.

The affairs of the Consular Corps are governed by the South African Diplomatic Immunities and Privileges Act No 37 of 2001, of which the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 forms an integral part.
